Center for Substance Abuse Prevention (CSAP)
Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA)
Peggy Thompson is the Director of the Office of Program Analysis (OPAC) at SAMHSA/CSAP. In this capacity, she is responsible for oversight and coordination of programs and issues throughout CSAP and serves as a key Center link for coordinating substance abuse prevention issues across SAMHSA. She previously served as the Budget Formulation specialist for CSAP, where she developed financial planning strategies that enabled CSAP to most effectively fund its portfolio of grants and contracts.
Peggy brings a wide range of experience that included such responsibilities as grantee review, grants management, personnel management, research, program development, program analysis, writing and editing. She has put that diverse background to work in OPAC, where she provides oversight over such cross-ranging activities as oversight regarding budget formulation and execution, RFA development, the National Advisory Council, the awards program, and the multitude of program analysis activities that collectively assist in the accomplishment of CSAP goals.
