Edward B. "Ted" Searle, M.B.A.

Ted Searle is the Deputy Director and Chief Operating Officer for the Center for Substance Abuse Prevention (CSAP). Prior to his position in CSAP, he was the Acting Deputy Director and Chief Operating Officer for the Center for Substance Abuse Treatment (CSAT). He was detailed to this position for a period of six months as part of the realignment designed to use the skills of Senior Staff to its full advantage during a period of transition in Center Director leadership.

Prior to this, Mr. Searle was the Deputy Director and Chief Operating Officer for the Center for Mental Health Services (CMHS) from January 2005 to June of 2008. He also held a number of positions within CMHS, including: Center Policy Officer; Director, Office of Program Analysis and Coordination; Director, Office of Policy, Planning, and Administration; and Executive Officer.

Before joining CMHS, Mr. Searle was the Executive Officer for the Office of Treatment Improvement (now CSAT). He has been a Budget Officer, budget analyst, and management analyst for many HHS organizations including the National Cancer Institute, the Food and Drug Administration, and the Alcohol, Drug Abuse and Mental Health Administration.

A graduate of the Kogod School of Business at the American University, Mr. Searle has devoted more than twenty five years as an administrative expert in managing and enhancing program support operations in the Federal health field.
